Marine Corps PFT and CFT score chart 2026 by age and sex

The question

What does each Marine Corps PFT and CFT event take to pass and to max out, by age band and sex?

Short answer

Marine Corps Order 6100.13A (change 5) prints a minimum and a top-score value for every PFT and CFT event (push-ups top out at 70 points) in eight age bands, separately for men and women. You pass a test with at least 150 points and every event at or above its own minimum; Marines in combat-arms specialties are scored on the male tables and need 210 on the PFT.

The Marine Corps scores every Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT) event from a table in Marine Corps Order (MCO) 6100.13A with administrative change 5. Each table gives two anchors per age band and sex: the minimum performance that still earns points, and the performance that earns the maximum (70 points for push-ups). This guide puts those anchors side by side so you can see where an event starts and where it tops out.

It covers the rules only in brief; the Navy PRT and Marine PFT/CFT guide covers them in full. The Marine Corps PFT and CFT calculator scores your own results from the same tables. DoD pages have said “Department of War” since September 2025; this guide uses DoD.

How to read the charts

In every table below, a cell reads minimum → maximum. For repetition events (pull-ups, push-ups, ammo lift) both numbers are repetitions. For timed events both numbers are times, with the slowest time that still scores first. The order prints its 40-point floor for most events and a 60-point floor for women’s pull-ups, so a minimum is not worth the same number of points everywhere. Age bands are 17–20, 21–25, 26–30, 31–35, 36–40, 41–45, 46–50 and 51 and over. The order scores recruits on the 17–20 table whatever their age.

Three rules sit on top of the tables:

  • Pass line. The minimum combined score to pass either test is 150 of 300. Hitting the minimum in every event does not reach 150, so some events must score higher.
  • Per-event minimums. Missing the minimum in any one event fails the whole test, whatever the total.
  • Classes. 1st class is 235 to 300, 2nd class 200 to 234 and 3rd class 150 to 199.

The PFT is required between January 1 and June 30 each year and the CFT between July 1 and December 31, for active-component Marines; the order sets the same windows for Selected Marine Corps Reserve and Individual Mobilization Augmentee Marines.

PFT: upper body, plank and cardio

The first PFT event is pull-ups or push-ups; you pick one before the event, and the two cannot be combined. The order says the maximum points on this event can only be earned with pull-ups. Push-ups stop at 70 points, so the push-up column below runs from the minimum to the repetitions that earn that 70-point cap.

The plank is the same for every age and sex: 3:45 earns 100 points and 1:10 earns the 40-point minimum. That table has applied since January 1, 2022.

The cardio event is the three-mile run; rowing 5,000 meters is an alternative under the age and medical rules in the Navy PRT and Marine PFT/CFT guide.

CFT: movement to contact, ammo lift and maneuver under fire

The CFT has three events for every Marine: a timed 880-yard movement to contact (MTC), the ammunition lift (AL), which counts lifts of a 30-pound can from shoulder height to overhead in two minutes, and the timed maneuver under fire (MANUF) course. The CFT classes and the 150 line are the same as for the PFT, and the order’s minimums for the three events are the left-hand numbers in these cells.

Men (minimum → maximum):

51+5:07 → 3:0516 → 956:09 → 2:52

Women (minimum → maximum):

AgeMovement to contactAmmo lift, 2 minManeuver under fire

21–254:41 → 3:1330 → 744:34 → 2:45

46–505:26 → 3:3926 → 535:06 → 3:35
51+5:52 → 3:556 → 446:33 → 3:44

Two things stand out. The 51-and-over ammo-lift minimums (16 for men, 6 for women) are far below the 46–50 band’s 65 and 26; that is how Tables 3-1 and 3-4 print them. And the maximum is not always the youngest band’s: the ammo-lift 100-point mark peaks in the 31–35 band for men and the 26–30 band for women.

Altitude and the rows in between

Units at 4,500 feet or more above sea level use separate altitude tables for the PFT run and row (Tables 2-6 and 2-8) and for the CFT movement to contact and maneuver under fire (Tables 3-6 and 3-7); the order directs commanders to give Marines a 30-day acclimatization period before the test and has no altitude adjustment for the ammo lift. Those tables are not reprinted here. The calculator has an altitude option, except that it does not score female 31–35 maneuver under fire at altitude, where the order’s Table 3-7 is inconsistent.

The charts show only the two ends of each event; the order’s full tables list the points for the values in between. When a result falls between two printed rows, the calculator uses the points of the last row you have reached; it never interpolates.

Combat arms: the male tables and 210

MARADMIN 613/25 (December 18, 2025) sets a different standard for Marines in the 32 combat-arms specialties listed in the Navy PRT and Marine PFT/CFT guide. From January 1, 2026, their PFT is scored on the male, age-normed table with a 210-point line, which the message calls 70 percent of the total possible. As of the messages we read on October 7, 2026, no adverse or punitive action is to be taken until further guidance is published. The message covers the PFT only. MARADMIN 066/26 (February 26, 2026) replaces the body composition process, and MARADMIN 073/26 (February 27, 2026) adjusts one sentence of it; both leave the PFT and combat-arms paragraphs of MARADMIN 613/25 as written.

Marines with other PMOSs keep the sex- and age-normed tables above.

Four worked results

These results were run through the same tables as the calculator, with the date set to October 7, 2026.

MarineEvent pointsTotalResult
Man, 38: 12 pull-ups, 2:45 plank, 22:00 run66 + 76 + 782202nd class
Same results at age 2363 + 76 + 752142nd class
Woman, 23: 6 pull-ups, 3:30 plank, 24:00 run75 + 94 + 822511st class
Same results in a combat-arms PMOS (male table)43 + 94 + 63200Passes 150; below 210

The first pair shows the age bands at work: identical results score more points in the 36–40 band than in the 21–25 band because the older band’s anchors for pull-ups and the run are lower. The second pair shows why the combat-arms line matters: the same plank earns the same points on either table, while the pull-up and run points drop sharply on the male table. MARADMIN 613/25 ties the 210 line to the Marine’s PMOS; scoring of record and any consequences are handled by the Marine’s command and the Marine Corps, not by a calculator.

This is general information, not medical or fitness advice. Your command scores the test of record with the current order.
