What to write about
- A number that changed. If a pay table, allowance, VA rate, fitness table or rule that a tool uses has changed, send the link to the agency’s own page or document that shows it. Confirmed changes go into the tools and the change log.
- Corrections. Include the page address and, if you can, a source. Confirmed factual errors are fixed and noted on the page, as described in the Editorial Policy.
- Problems with a tool. Tell us which tool, your browser, the values you entered and what you expected to see. Example values are enough; please don’t send your real records.
- Questions a guide doesn’t answer, and tools you wish the site had. Common requests may become new guides or tools.
- Privacy requests to access, correct or delete personal information, or to opt out of sale or sharing. See the Privacy Policy and Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
- Copyright notices. The procedure is in the Terms of Use.
What we can’t help with
We can’t help with individual claims, pay problems or records, and we can’t give legal, tax, financial or medical advice. Rank and Pay has no access to any military or VA system and can’t see or change anything about your pay, your rating or your record. For those, contact:
- Pay and allowances: your unit’s finance office, or DFAS.
- VA ratings, claims and payments: VA, or a VA-accredited representative from a Veterans Service Organization, who helps at no cost: how to find one on VA.gov.
- Fitness tests and body composition: your unit or command fitness program.
- Money, tax and family questions: Military OneSource or a personal financial counselor on your installation.
Rank and Pay is not a government office or a claims service, and we don’t accept paid guest posts or link placements.
When to expect a reply
We aim to reply within five business days. Privacy requests are answered within the time the applicable law allows, and we will tell you if we need more time.
